Congratulations to all Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards Finalists!

If you've never heard about Tales of the Cocktail then do not worry because I'm going to give you a brief glimpse into what the event is all about.  Imagine a week long vacation in New Orleans where you get to meet, greet, eat and drink with the top professionals of the bar industry.  During this week there are special events that last all day long giving everyone an opportunity to experience something new from seminars to tastings and even new product demonstrations.  For those of us in the industry, there is a Cocktail Apprenticeship Program where people within the bar industry can apply to work alongside these professionals in order to learn more about their craft.  The U.S. Bartenders Guild also hosts their series of Master Accreditation Testing, which is an internationally recognized achievement that prepares you for their final test of becoming a Master Mixologist.

Finally, there is the Spirited Awards, an awards ceremony that recognizes the best bars and bar talent from around the world.  We would like to congratulate those who were nominated and wish good luck to everyone as their name is waiting to be called this Saturday, July 18th.  We would especially like to congratulate those from our hometown of Louisville, Kentucky and our friends from around the country.  We have listed their names and nominations below but you can view the full list of nominees by clicking on the Spirited Awards link below.  Good luck everyone!

Bernie Lubbers of Heaven Hill – Best American Brand Ambassador

Proof on Main (Louisville, Kentucky) - Best American Hotel Bar

Redemption Rye Barrel Proof (Joe RIggs, Brand Ambassador) – Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient

Bridget Albert (Chicago, Illinois) – Best Bar Mentor

We would also like to wish good luck to our friend Jennifer Jarvis who is participating in the aforementioned Cocktail Apprenticeship Program.  Have fun and learn everything you can!

Unfortunately we weren't able to make it this year but we look forward to coming down to Tales of the Cocktail in 2016!  Cheers!
